This sconce is a flat glass disc mounted close to the wall, with vertical fluting running across its face. The disc form is unusual for a wall light and it is what makes the fitting work, since it presents a broad lit surface rather than a projecting shade, so it lights a wall evenly and takes up almost no depth doing it.

The fluting breaks the surface into narrow bands that catch light at different angles, which stops the disc reading as a plain circle and gives it something to do in daylight when the lamp is off. Against a textured wall the effect is subtle. Against flat paint it is the most interesting thing on the surface.

Three glass finishes are available. Smoke grey is the most neutral and coolest. Cognac warms the output considerably and suits wood and darker paint. Frosted white diffuses the most and gives the softest, most even output of the three, which makes it the best choice beside a bed or a mirror. The low projection makes it viable in narrow hallways where a conventional sconce would be caught by a shoulder. Hardwired, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Check bathroom zone regulations with your electrician before choosing a mounting position near a basin or bath.
