Description
This pendant keeps its shape simple and puts all its character into the glass. A gently tapered shade in tinted glass hangs from a slim stem, with the colour deep enough to read clearly in daylight and translucent enough to glow rather than block once the light is on. There is no metalwork below the ceiling rose to distract from it.
Tinted glass changes the colour of the light itself, not just the look of the fitting. Smoke grey pulls the output slightly cooler and more neutral, which suits a kitchen or a workspace where you want the light to stay honest. Rust warms it noticeably, which is the better choice over a dining table or in a living room where atmosphere matters more than accuracy.
A single pendant works over a small round table, a bedside or an entrance. Two or three hung in a line handle an island or a longer dining table, and mixing the two colours across a run gives a more considered result than matching them. Cable length is adjustable at installation, and the drop should place the base of the shade roughly 75 cm above a table surface. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
