Nordic Metal LED Desk Lamp

A desk lamp has one job, which is to put light on the work and nowhere else. This one does it with a narrow metal shade on an angled stem, so the beam lands in a defined pool on the surface rather than spilling across the room or bouncing off a screen. The base is compact enough to sit beside a laptop without claiming half the desk.

The shade angle and the arm can both be set, which matters more than it sounds. A fixed lamp forces you to move the paper. An adjustable one lets you move the light instead, which is the difference between a lamp you use every day and one you push to the back of the desk. The joints hold their position rather than drifting under their own weight.

Six colours are available. Grey, white and black keep it neutral for a shared workspace, while pink, yellow and green read as a deliberate accent on an otherwise plain desk. The metal body dissipates heat well, so the lamp stays comfortable to reposition even after several hours. Position it so the shade is at or slightly below eye level and off to the side of your dominant hand, which keeps the glare out of your sightline and stops your own hand casting a shadow across what you are reading.
